Bring the House Down

On Saturday 27th June we took down the Manna House which has provided good service as a youth club building for the last 25 years.  A team of over 20 managed to completly clear the building - thanks to all those who helped in any way. We have obtained planning permission to replace it - see here, ( see elevation).

Young People go live!

On Saturday 4th July the young people from the Drama Group and CYFA and Pathfinders are putting on a variety show called ‘Y-Live’. They are not only performing but are running all aspects of the show including producing, directing, choreography, costumes and backstage. All ticket money will go towards the new youth building to replace the Manna House. Tickets are £4 adult, £3 child/OAP available after the service or from the church office.

Church Picnic June 2009
Over 50 members of St Philip & St James Church spent an afternoon at the idyllic Bradfordon-Avon on Sunday 7th June.  After sharing a picnic, relaxing in the sunshine, or exploring the local area, the church members celebrated a simple communion in the open air.

Sport Walk June 2009
SPORT walks (St Philip's Official Rambling Team), are organised by Gary Stokes about every 8 weeks. Usually they cover a local area and take about half a day with transport being provided from outside the church. In June the SPORT walk took in the valleys that lead from the picturesque village of Compton Dando near Keynsham through an area of outstanding natural beauty. If you would like to know the next date for SPORT walks E mail Gary This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Logos Hope docks into St Philip's
Operation Mobilisation's ship Logos Hope docked into Cardiff in June and used the premises of St Philips for a summer camp for the resident school children. Logos ships aim to bring knowledge, help and hope to the people of the world through literature resources, encouraging cross-cultural understanding, and training young people for more effective life and service.
