Housegroups are an invaluable way to find fellowship during the week and they come in many forms. We believe a church is made stronger by its individual groups and would encourage you to join one or team up with others to start your own home group.

Help is on hand for those interested in becoming housegroup leaders – a library of resources/bible studies, regular leaders meetings & more. If you’d like more information about housegroups or are interested in starting your own, please talk to Margaret Joyce or contact the Church Office on 835228.

Below is a summary of our current housegroups

Chris & Pam Hitchins - Every Wednesday, Odd Down

We meet every Wednesday evening in term time at our home. Our strength is our experience of life and our own christian journey, plus a flavour of humour. These all give a richness and depth to the study and discussions that we have.

Margaret Joyce (Day Time Group) - Every Tuesday, St James’ Lounge

We meet in the St James Lounge on Tuesdays at 11.00am during term time. This is a group for those who cannot come to an evening group. At the moment we are studying acts, we really enjoy getting to grips with scripture. 

Margaret Joyce (Evening Group) - Every Thursday, Odd Down

We meet every Thursday evening at our home at 7.30pm. This group is a follow up to last year's Alpha course. Everyone is really hungry to learn more of the Christian faith. We have lots of fun as we learn.

John & Claire Morrish - Alternate Tuesdays (term time only) , Combe Down

We meet alternate Tuesdays at our home from 8pm. We're a mixed age group, the only common strand at present is that we are all parents. We have studied a variety of topics - most recently we have looked at the Nooma DVD's, studied the letters of John and we are presently doing a series on Living By Grace.

Charles & Chris Stammers - Every Wednesday, Odd Down

We meet every Wednesday evening at 7.45pm at our home, the members of group share leading and hosting. Normally have a series of about six meetings following a theme in which we have bible study, discussion, meditation, prayer, worship, tea, coffee and biscuits. After each series we have social event which involves a shared meal. Most of our group are of buspass age and men are outnumbered by females in ratio 3:1!

Vicki & Dave Atkinson - Alternate Wednesdays, Odd Down

We meet alternate Wednesdays at 8pm. Mostly we follow a bible study series (currently Thessalonians), with occasional socials mixed in. We are a mixed age group, all couples at present, and share the hosting and leading between us.

Kevin & Ali Mottram - Wednesdays, Odd Down

This group started as a follow-on from the Alpha Course in 2008. We meet on Wednesdays – initially fortnightly, lately weekly, but this is under review at present. We are learning about listening to God and praying for each other as well as digging into the Bible each week and having lively debates about all sorts of issues.

GAS - 18 to 25s, Sundays, Odd Down

The God Appreciation Society is for 18 to 25 year-olds group who meet Sundays after church for discussion and chat with occasional speakers. Venues and topics vary, please contact Bryony Hitchcock for more information.
